Install CyberPanel on a fresh server
Move from a clean Linux server to a working hosting dashboard. Follow the steps in order, and use the Copy buttons to send only the commands you need to your terminal.
Before you begin
Clean server
Start with a fresh, CyberPanel-supported Linux installation. Check the current supported operating systems before choosing your server image. Do not use a server that already runs another hosting control panel.
Minimum resources
CyberPanel’s installation guide specifies at least 1 GB of RAM and 10 GB of disk space. Allow more room for websites, databases, backups, and optional services.
Run with care: These commands update system packages and run an installer with administrative privileges. Use a server you control and review the official guide first.
Connect by SSH
Open your terminal or SSH client and sign in to the server as root. Replace the example IP address with your own.
ssh root@YOUR_SERVER_IP
If your provider does not permit direct root SSH access, use its approved method to obtain a root shell before running the installer.
Update server packages
Copy the command for your operating system—not both.
Ubuntu
apt update && apt upgrade -y
AlmaLinux or Rocky Linux
dnf update -y
If the operating-system update requires a reboot, reboot first, reconnect by SSH, and then continue.
Run the official installer
From your root shell, copy and run CyberPanel’s installation command. Make sure curl or wget is available.
sh <(curl https://cyberpanel.net/install.sh || wget -O - https://cyberpanel.net/install.sh)
Follow the prompts to choose OpenLiteSpeed or LiteSpeed Enterprise, decide which additional services to install, and set a strong administrator password. Save the credentials displayed when installation finishes.
Security note: This command downloads and executes a remote script as root. Verify the installer URL against CyberPanel’s current documentation before running it.
Open your dashboard
Reboot if prompted. Make sure TCP port 8090 is permitted through your server and provider firewalls, then open this address in your browser:
https://YOUR_SERVER_IP:8090
Sign in with the username admin and the password you
selected during installation. Replace YOUR_SERVER_IP
with your server’s actual IP address.
Reset the admin password
If you need to reset your CyberPanel admin password, connect to
the server as root via SSH. Copy the command, replace
YOUR_NEW_PASSWORD with a strong password, and run it
in the server terminal.
adminPass 'YOUR_NEW_PASSWORD'
Before running: The Copy button copies the placeholder exactly as shown. Replace it locally, never publish your real password, and be aware that passwords typed into commands may remain in shell history.
Keep building
Once the panel is running, keep CyberPanel updated and limit administrative access to people who need it. For changes to an existing server, take a snapshot or backup first.
